[diadem] engine repair (player plot)
The Hellion's Heart
The Set-Up
After asking around the research labs in the Sanctum, Karlach along with Jayce and Viktor, turn up information regarding a man who calls himself "Doctor Barker." Barker is eccentric even by Panorama standards, having become obsessed with the appearance of a diffusion zone which he calls the "Labyrinth of Perdition".
The materials he sourced from it include a metal alloy that is frighteningly similar to the Infernal Iron that Karlach needs to perform any upgrades or repairs to her engine.
He has called this material "Perdinium" (working name).
Barker, however, has not seen the diffusion zone since he last stumbled upon it two years ago. Since then, he has been desperately hoping that it will reappear. Despite the chances being so incredibly low, the possibility still keeps him up at night. Wondering.
Due to the unique signatures of another metallic liquid he calls "Gehenum", he has created a tracking device that should act as a compass when within ten miles of large deposits of it. If it means that the labyrinth might be rediscovered, he's willing to let others borrow this specialised device.
The agreement is simple: Karlach may take what she needs, but the rest of it (including any Gehenum they find) goes to Barker.
...Provided they can actually rediscover the Labyrinth of Perdition once again. It may never reappear, so maybe one should consider backup plans as wellβ
